dynamic docking - a ferry station

site - Newtown Creek, New York

concept -
This project ventures to
engage both land and water
remediatory processes at the
trace site of a former creek
crossing adjacent to the
Pulaski bridge, near the mouth
of the creek @ the East River.
The designed system taps into
cultures of alternative transport
and wellness and proposes a
ferry terminal linked to a
dynamic docking system which
connects to a fitness center
and a neighborhood clinic
providing access to the
residential fabric as well as to
the water's edge and across it
while allowing for remediation
to be ongoing and accessible.
