site - west village, Manhattan

concept - the ground lfoor offers a slightly submerged, double height exhibit space; the upper floors house the support spaces of the gallery, including an archive and an office for the curator with southern exposure and view towards the twin towers. The facades compliment each other - one welcomes the individual visitor, the other exposes the circulation pattern and ties together all the various functions and services.
